Pool booking no longer required. This means no more pre-planning and booking swim sessions, whether that be casual or lane swimming! The ease of going for a swim pre-Covid is back! If you are a non-member and pay for each swim, please remember we are still not accepting cash at this time. Come prepared with card or contactless payment. Please note: our booking system remains in place for all other areas of the Sports Village including the gym and classes (Aquacise is still bookable).
The Hertfordshire Sports Village Swimming Pool in Hatfield is minutes from Hatfield Galleria, Welwyn Garden City and St Albans.
Swim ratios
For your safety and that of all swimmers we operate the following policy in relation to children swimming at Hertfordshire Sports Village:
- Over 8s – swim alone
- 5-8 years – 2 children to 1 adult
- Under 5 years – 1 child to 1 adult
Children under 3 years are free of charge.

Was lovely to swim this morning for the first time in several weeks. I was so impressed with the social distancing arrangements, cleanliness of the pool and related facilities. Everything was absolutely tip-top. I arrived unexpectedly early and your marshal at the entrance, checked with a colleague at poolside to see if there was room and allowed me to enter the pool without having to wait. This was using initiative in the best sense of the word to enhance the customer experience. Your poolside staff were professional as always. Thank you for the thorough preparation and training that everyone has obviously undergone – I enjoyed my swim far more than expected!
